Ginkgo nuts, also known as Bai Guo in Chinese or Pek Gui in Malay, are used for cooking in soups, stir-fries, and desserts.

It has a mildly sweet, nutty, slightly bitter, with a chewy, waxy texture, turning translucent green when cooked. These can be added to soups, stews, steamed rice, stir-fries, and desserts. However, these must be cooked (boiled, pan-fried) to remove toxins; never eat raw.
